My car is humming along. B&L Automotive was a refreshing experience for anyone dreading that trip to a automotive technician. Upon arrival I was greeted and engaged. They display a healthy depiction of teamwork amongst themselves and towards us as the customer. They treated us like family and kept us informed with the health and conditions of my car. Now although the price may not be the brightest, the quality of work done upon the car was truly noticeable and is high in quality. When I left, I was actually able to feel the difference which left me feeling even more confident as I left their house of repairs. Chris, Bud, and Darryl were a pleasure to make acquaintances with and if I ever need assistance and I'm financially capable, I will definitely bring my business back to them. Thanks you guys

We are on our way to DC when our TPMS light came on with out the tire pressure light. This was concerning since we still had about a 3 hour drive to go. We pulled off the interstate at Fort Eustis only to find B&L right there. We asked if they would take a look. They said no tire punctures, no pressure issues. The TPMS system has batteries, and it was likely one of those. Nothing to worry about for our trip and NO CHARGE! In and out in under 30 minutes.

Amazing. To please take their car for whatever service they needed. I never once felt like I was being taken advantage of and I was very comfortable with all the information that was given to me. Especially since I was already aware of the extra things that needed to be checked and the cost which was also confirmed to the penny. Very nice, thank you for telling the truth.

I brought my car to b&l after buying a used car. I was having transmission issues and when I initially came in for my repair my problems weren't completely solved. Darin and his crew then went above and beyond in trying to figure out my issue and went out of their way to ensure that I left a happy customer. I can honestly say I've never received better service elsewhere, and will recommend everyone I know to them for any type of car repair. Thanks guys

I went to get my car inspected. The staff was very nice, however, after waiting all day when it was supposed to only take 1-3 hours they were explaining to me what all needed to be done and my total amount came out to $1,371.45. I knew this couldn't be right and had them reject it. The next day I took it to a dealership where it passed with flying colors. I told the mechanics what I was told before. They told me that was not true and that the only thing my car really needs is an oil change and new front tires by next year. Everything else was fine. I don't know why B&L was charging me so much plus $200 an hour for labor which is crazy but I won't be going back.

Sarah, On your vehicle, we were contacted via the state police about your failed repairs. The VA State Trooper made a visit to our location where he inquired about the items we failed the car for and he was shown pictures from our digital inspections that we performed on your vehicle. After seeing the pictures the Trooper stated we were correct in our decision for the items we failed and that he would be visiting the technician at the dealer to handle the rest of the investigation. He did also state that he was going to have the technician to go ahead and pass your vehicle as to not delay you further. I apologise that you received conflicting information in reference to your state inspection, and just wanted you to know the entire story. Also, you mentioned our labor rate at $200 per hour, and I would like to just take one moment to address this. Our labor rate for repairs is $109.97 and I am at a loss to where the numbers you're mentioning are from since doubling our labor rate is not within our practice. Our number one goal at B&L is to provide superior service that our customers expect and thus providing you with the safest and most reliable automobile for you and your family. I brought my car for inspection at 12:30 p.m. and the waiting time "according to the one who checked my car in" is 1 to 3 hours. It is a very long waiting time specially there were only two cars ahead of me. I kept calling to check if someone started checking my car but no one did. I called again at 5:00 "30 min before they close", and the guy told me -in a rude way- we can not check your car today because the car ahead of you failed the inspection. I picked my car up at 5:30 - my car was with that place for five hours - and no one even touched the car. Never going back for sure.

Thank you for your review and we certainly understand your frustration with the state inspection process. The Virginia State Police specifically state that all vehicles have to be taken in the order to which they are received, and we cannot under any circumstances make appointments. Unfortunately, this makes for a difficult process when vehicles fail for inspection and have to be worked on due to the laws we have to abide by. We do apologize that we could not get to it in the time we estimated, and we would ask you to please forgive us. Remember that the beginning/ending of the month will always be when inspections are the absolute busiest and most difficult to wait for. In no way would we ever want to not serve one of our customers, nor come off as rude in any form, and respect each and every customer. Again we are very sorry for not being able to do your inspection due to the time restraints of previously dropped off vehicles for the same service. We hope you will understand and visit us again. Outstanding. This is the best repair and maintenance facility I have ever found for automobiles. The service and appointments are prompt, and the staff (especially Darin at the front desk) is knowledgeable, courteous, and takes the time to carefully explain to customers any required repairs as well as recommended service. Of particular note, is that the technicians use cameras to download photographs of the repair process or problem areas that are reviewed with the customer on a monitor in the lounge area. This level of involving the customer is outstanding and always helps me in my decisions regarding repairs! I strongly recommend B&L Automotive. They will always have my business!
